Introduction

Splendor is a strategic card game for 2-4 players where you compete to collect gems and build the most prestigious Renaissance era buildings. With its simple rules and engaging gameplay, Splendor has become a popular choice for gamers of all levels. If you’re new to the game, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you learn how to play Splendor:

Setting Up the Game

  1. Shuffle all the cards: There are three types of cards in Splendor: Gem cards, Development cards, and Noble cards. Shuffle each deck separately and place them face down in the center of the table.

  2. Deal initial resources: Each player receives 4 random Gem cards from the deck. These cards represent your starting resources.

How to Play Splendor Step by Step

  1. On your turn, you can take one of the following actions:

    • Take 3 Gem cards: Choose 3 Gem cards from the face-up cards in the center of the table. You can take any combination of colors.

    • Purchase a Development card: Choose a Development card from the face-up cards in the center of the table and pay its cost in Gem cards. Development cards grant you special abilities and bonus points.

    • Reserve a Noble card: Choose a Noble card from the face-up cards in the center of the table and pay its cost in Gem cards. Noble cards give you bonus points at the end of the game.

  2. After you take your turn, replenish the face-up cards in the center of the table. Draw cards from the appropriate deck until there are 4 Gem cards, 3 Development cards, and 3 Noble cards face up.

  3. The game ends when one player reaches 15 victory points. Victory points are earned by purchasing Development cards, Noble cards, and collecting sets of Gem cards. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins.
